REQUIREMENTS

  Business Checking Account: You'll need a business checking account to accept credit card deposits and debits. The ACH (Automated Clearing House) is what Visa and MasterCard use to complete transactions and links to all banks. You'll want to take your Corporate Minutes and Federal Tax ID number or your d.b.a. and Social Security card to open the account. Be sure to get the temporary checks or the routing and account number on bank stationary with an bank officers signature to insure you have the correct routing and account numbers.

First register your  .COM  Name see MY. com it is a good one because they offer alternatives to the name you've chosen. Let your host register your name as they will know the (I.P.) address or server name to point it to, and are happy to do so. See  Hosting.

  Second, go to the County Court House, the Register's Office and get a D.B.A. or Factious Name Statement. You can use your corporation or your personnel name. Most States call it one or the other and charge $15 - $20 for the Certificate. Some counties have publishing requirements to see if anyone else is using the name. Most usually they have all the names in a data base and can tell you in 30 seconds if yours is available, and of course if it's a .Com name you can rest assured it's available.

  Third, to your bank or credit union.  Take the DBA or Corporation documents and Federal Tax ID number and your social security card to the bank and they will issue a business checking account in that .COM name. Now at the end of the month when your customers see their bill they will know who you are, very important and they may punch you up and order again. Now your ready to receive payments, submit your Merchant Application.

Call the credit bureaus and have them put an "Alert" on your file.
Close the account or accounts in question.
