MasterCard's, Simple Steps to Fight Fraud:
1. Check the embossing. Embossing should be clear and uniform in size and spacing, and extend into the hologram.
2. The three-dimensional hologram with interlocking globes should reflect light and seem to move as you rotate the cards.
3. Verify the signature. The back of the card must be signed, and the signature should reasonably compare to the sales draft.
4. Check the magnetic stripe. It should appear smooth and straight with no signs of tampering.
5. Get help. If you are ever suspicious about a card, call your Voice Authorization Center and request a Code 10 Operator.
