Link Point API The Application Program Interface is designed for software companies. Internet service providers (ISP's), e-commerce service providers (CSP's) or developers, with an advanced knowledge of the C, PHP or Java programming languages preferring to use the LinkPoint Select API (application programming interface) client to integrate secure credit card processing into both simple and complex e-commerce Web sites. In addition to C or Java client libraries, LinkPoint International has created a series of software wrappers to support development on various platforms and application environments (e.g., Perl, COM, ColdFusion, PHP, HTML)

The Link Point ESD module provides merchant protection by creating a hidden URL. This allows customers to pay for products and services online with a credit card without leaving the merchant's Web site. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology is used to encrypt confidential transactions and order information and to pass them directly from the e-commerce site to the LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway. Secure socket layer (SSL) protocol and allow the ability to conduct electronic soft good downloads of digital merchandise or software. The downloaded URL is delivered to the customer by means of the onscreen transaction confirmation and an e-mail receipt. Each downloaded URL is unique to each sale, and the file of that URL is automatically removed after a successful download. If disconnected, the customer can return to download the purchase after obtaining a better internet connection but the soft good is not available to be downloaded by anyone other than the customer who purchased it.

Link Point API allows the more cyber-savvy Merchant, ISP, CSP or software Developer to conduct e-Commerce in a secured SSL environment on site.  The product provides ordering, payments, tax and shipping calculations and the unique ability to offer digital merchandise, which when the payment transaction is complete, allowing downloads byte by byte to the ordering PC.

Advantages:
Fraud protection checks for common patterns and has the ability to block Internet protocol (IP) addresses and credit card numbers. Merchants can also create a "negative file" or high-risk consumers/card numbers. Virtual Link Point has the option to automatically perform numerous e-commerce fraud checks in real time, allowing merchants to lock out specific credit card numbers and IP addresses, and makes Address Verification Service (A.V.S.) information available for approved transactions. Use the "Verified by Visa" or "MasterCard SecureCode". The "API LinkShield"  report, will show, the fraud risk scores for both Fraud Shield options averaging the two scores with the transaction by order number, along with the date, type of transaction, approval code and amount. this allows you to make even more informed decisions about the risk associated with each transaction.

Purchase Cards As big businesses and government revamps the traditional purchasing process, they look for suppliers and vendors that accept Purchase Cards.

Supports tax calculations.  Provides real-time calculation of state and/or municipal sales taxes to be charged on e-commerce orders.

Calculates shipping by flat rate or dollar amount per order and can configure shipping tables based on zones or different types of shipping, etc.  This highly configurable application allows merchants to set precise rules for how customers will be charged to ship products they have ordered.

Merchant reports and tools provide complete, up-to-the-minute reporting.  They allow merchants to specify search and time criteria to generate reports summarizing all successful orders, listing all transactions or showing all orders for a particular product. Allow some users to "View Reports", and restrict others usage. Merchants can also perform management tasks from the merchant reports and tools interface, including confirming shipment of hard or soft goods and issuing credits.

Electronic software downloads give the digital merchandise seller the ability to sell "soft goods," with byte-by-byte tracking of the software download. There is no need to encapsulate or modify the file before it can be sold.  The software cannot be duplicated and Link Point API completely automates the e-commerce sale of soft good products that are ordered, paid for and delivered by electronic downloads, such as software, graphic images, photos and music.

Integration capability systems is managed through a series of Application Program Interfaces (APIs) that extract information from the database for integration into existing business systems.  A merchant using a fulfillment company for instance would use this feature.
